Liebster Award

My blog was nominated for the Liebster Blog Award by Roger Grech of http://papercutbindery.blogspot.com/
When you accept the award, one of the rules is that the blogger has to name at least 5 bloggers with less than 200 followers for their blog to nominate. A pay-it-forward type of award.

Here are my nominations:
http://americanbookcovers.blogspot.com/ Featuring the wonderful decorative Publisher’s Bindings from the late 1800s through the early 1900s.
http://www.bookn3rd.com/ By a self confessed book nerd, a collection of posts on historical images and books
http://cweimannmarbledworks.blogspot.com/ More fantastic marbling with floral and miniature work
http://zigoranguiano.blogspot.com/ In Spanish, featuring his work and other stories on binding

There are more blogs listed on this site and I encourage you to check them out.

  1. Oo, lovely. Lots of great sites to check out :D

Hey Jana, I have a question about type holders... Do you think it worth the big price tag to get a doubleline self-centering typeHolder, or would a simple single line 4" do fine?..

..just your opinion from experience. Also, do I need brass type, or will foundry do ok?

    Thanks. ~Sonya~

    1. I like single line holders. I think a double line would be hard to get enough even pressure when tooling and would be awkward to place.

Brass or zinc type made for stamping is better. Foundry type will soften and sometime distort when using it and if you slip and it touches your stove it melts. Which happened to me doing the Water binding that I blogged about earlier.
